I was out riding just now after after several weeks of hazy conditions. Skies cleared and sunshine came through. And it was glorious!
The initial intention was to get done outdoor mileage and maybe do some more thinking on Purpose. But somehow my thought moved into the state of advertising today. What has become of it? Especially with the great debate on ad / content blocking.
For years I have admired the humanitarian work of the doctors and people at Médecins Sans Frontières, or Doctors Without Borders. Many who know me will know that I love adventure; and on the edge experiences. But I’ve never been able to take the leap and put myself out there as how the people at MSF do.
Maybe I’m not qualified. Maybe I just don’t have the guts. Maybe I’m not as selfless as I think I am.
However now I have the opportunity to do this; to contribute a small part to the cause of the MSF.
This coming Berlin Marathon in September 2014, I have opted to run with the colors of Médecins Sans Frontières. And I hope, together with the Team. To get there, I have agreed to become their fund raiser.
This social media sharing thing, while a wonderful thing, can be a bad thing some times.
While on one hand we are sharing all these wonderful stuff, on another hand there are the less fortunate group. Those missing out on all of the enjoyment. The friends, family, and acquaintances we may have forgotten.
So when we can, let’s practice balance on how we openly share on social media and not forget that there are people not able to enjoy what we enjoy.
Happy holidays everyone.
